Key Responsibilities:
Construction and Installation:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
Construct, install, and repair wooden structures, such as frameworks, partitions, and cabinets.
Build and assemble furniture, fixtures, and other woodwork, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications.
Measurement and Cutting:
Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
Ensure all measurements and cuts are accurate to meet project specifications and safety standards.
Finishing and Detailing:
Sand, stain, and paint surfaces to achieve a smooth and aesthetically pleasing finish.
Install hardware such as hinges, handles, and locks, ensuring proper functionality and alignment.
Repairs and Maintenance:
Inspect and repair damaged or worn wooden structures and fixtures.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep tools and equipment in good working condition.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and adhere to safety protocols when operating tools and machinery.
Project Management:
Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.
Coordinate with other tradespeople and construction professionals to ensure project integration and completion.
Customer Service:
Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing recommendations and solutions as required.
Address any concerns or issues that arise during the project, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Tasks

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
Instruct apprentices
Supervise other workers
