Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing Operations:
Operate dishwashing machines to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to established procedures.
Load and unload dishwashing machines, ensuring that items are placed correctly for optimal cleaning.
Monitor the dishwashing process to ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and free of residue.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of dishwashing machines and related equipment, including checking for and addressing any malfunctions or issues.
Clean and sanitize sinks, countertops, and surrounding work areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
Dispose of waste materials and food scraps in accordance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
Inventory and Organization:
Organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated storage areas, ensuring they are properly dried and ready for use.
Maintain an inventory of dishwashing supplies, such as detergents, sanitizers, and other cleaning agents, and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals and waste.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Ensure that all dishwashing practices meet sanitation and hygiene standards.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure a smooth flow of dishes and utensils between the kitchen and dining areas.
Assist with other kitchen tasks or duties as assigned, including general cleaning or food prep support.
Quality Control:
Inspect cleaned items for any signs of leftover food or residue, and rewash items as necessary to ensure cleanliness.
Report any issues with dishwashing equipment or processes to the supervisor or maintenance team.
