Responsibilities
Tasks
Measure and determine reference points for installation
Assemble and install refrigeration and air-conditioning components
Supervise apprentices and teach them the trade
Measure and cut pipes and connect them by welding or brazing
Start up and leak-test installations using testing equipment
Carry out maintenance work such as topping up the system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating the system
Interpret gas code
Handle, recover and store refrigerants
Repair and replace parts and components of complete refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation systems, including thermodynamic heating systems
